What is Overtime Select?
Overtime Select is a brand new eight-team league showcasing the top 15-18 year old women basketball players in the country, while also serving to empower them as leaders, providing them with tools and resources to build their personal brands as they prepare for college.
OT Select gameplay will culminate in a tournament-style competition during the traditional basketball offseason in August, thus filling a gap in gameplay and programming over the summer months and subsequently maximizing exposure during that time period.
Along with some of the strongest competition in high school basketball, the players in OT Select will have access to a group of advisors that have had success at all levels helping set them up for success every step of the way.
OT Select Rules
Overtime
The winning team will be determined during one OVERTIME period which will not have a time limit. Instead, teams will be playing to the OVERTIME Score. The OVERTIME Score is established by adding five points to the total of each team’s point total at the end of regulation.
Captain’s Challenge
Each team is allowed one Captain’s Challenge per game. It may only be exercised during the final two minutes of the fourth quarter or Overtime period on a dead ball.
The Big Bonus
Each non-shooting foul beginning with the fourth Team Foul of each quarter will trigger the Big Bonus. The player that commits the foul will enter the “Penalty Box,” creating a 5 on 4 advantage for the offensive team. The Big Bonus is not in effect during the final four minutes of the 4th quarter.
